Goldsboro Milling Cattle Division
Goldsboro Milling Company was founded on September 29, 1916. It has remained a family owned and operated throughout its history and is now in its fourth generation of family management. The three principals are J. Louis Maxwell, Jr., H.G. Maxwell, III and James Louis Maxwell, III. Maxwell Foods, Inc. was founded in 1989 as a swine production company. Goldsboro Milling Company currently produces 1,600,000 market hogs per year from 78,000 sows. They also process approximately 200,000 Butterball Turkeys per day and 1,250 to 1,300 calves per year from 1,500 brood cows. Their goal is to provide meat protein to the consumer
from animals produced in an ideal environment as possible and to allow
adequate growth in an efficient process as possible. They try to provide
quality cattle to the market place utilizing resources produced in our
food production system at an economical cost as possible. |
