The Bray Family

Ridgecrest Farm is located in Lawsonville, North Carolina. Mark Bray in a native of Stokes County and attended N.C. State University. He and is wife, Dorinda, manage approximately 1,500 head of stockers and three Perdue chicken layer houses. They have three sons; Zachary, Andrew and John. The Bray’s have also partnered with Mark’s brother, Stephen, who manages a dairy herd in Penhook, VA.

After working ten years with the U.S. Postal Service, Mark finally fulfilled his like long dream of becoming a fulltime cattle producer. Mark and Dorinda are 1st generation farmers.

Mark’s first introduction to the steer business was in 1970 when he raised and showed his first 4-H Steer. In 1977 he sold his first large group of steers consisting of 35 head. Mark sold his first trailer load lot in 1989 as a partner in M & M Cattle Company. Until Mark had the numbers to market his own tractor trailer load of feeder cattle he utilized the State Graded Feeder Calf sales.

The entire family continues to evolve and maintain a positive outlook on the cattle and poultry industry.
